Metalarte and the designer Pepe Cortés have collaborated in a bespoke project of a new lamp that illuminates with great elegance the Palace of Marques Peñalba in Valencia, the new headquarter from the Uquijo Bank. To Metalarte is a great honour to be the producer of this project with Pepe Cortés, who collaborates with the firm since 2003. This creation has
combined with grace and elegance: modern with classic.
In the hall of the palace are a majestic double staircase whose we find a vaulted ceiling where two cascade lamps are arranged with many points
of light in an asymmetrical spiral. The lights are visible from almost every room of the palace. Each lamp consists of a one-meter diameter brass disk that organizes the connections, the supports and the weight of the 85 small pendants. This disc, at the same time, is supported by a stainless steel structure as a three star form where stainless steel cables are hanged in
a way that allows getting access to each of the 85 power cables individually and helps to turn on by sectors the lighting of the most convenient way. The total length exceeds 16 meters and weight around 120Kg each. The small
brass screens and disk have been brushed and varnished to endure their look unchanged, while the steel was tempered with controlled abrasive projection to get a matching colour to the whole group.
